Two years ago, when John Boehner, Paul Ryan, Todd Akin and the Tea Party took control of the House of Representatives, they promised us that they would boost up our economy by creating more jobs and whatnot, but, instead, they took their chance on women’s health. Most Republicans encourage others on defunding Planned Parenthood which is a source for cancer screenings. Not only that, but they’re trying to redefine rape. Mitt Romney is doing everything in his power to make the Roe vs. Wade case become something that we shouldn’t care about and he’s pushing the case to the point where the Supreme Court will make a new law about abortions. This election is one of the foremost important elections for women and health care. It’s time to defend what we need.

Planned Parenthood was brought upon to the generation about 100 years ago by a woman named Margaret Sanger. The very first clinic was opened in Manhattan, New York. A clinic that serves women’s health and voice. When Planned Parenthood was established, birth control was illegal, which cause women to drop out of school and take care of their child. Men shouldn’t have to be the only one can do the big jobs and be employed. It is also our job to be the supporter and provider for our family as well. But four years ago, when Barack Obama was elected, women started to have jobs and became part of the “Big Dogs.” Women are now working with the Supreme Court, Cabinet assistant, and be a part of the armed forces. What more can you ask for? Mitt Romney wants to turn down over 100 years worth of hard work and dependence for women. It’s like we woke up from a bad episode of Mad Men. Women has been and still depending on Planned Parenthood for cancer screenings, HPV testings, HIV/AIDS testing, safe sex education, and more. An anonymous explains to me that she received her first birth control pills when she was 16. And when she came to Planned Parenthood, they explained to her that she has a lump in her right breast. Although it wasn’t something serious, but it could have been. Because of Planned Parenthood, she was able to be more cautious of her health and be more aware of breast cancer. “Planned Parenthood saved me.”
